Rewarding excellence with a Mazenod education.

Mazenod College is a proudly non-select entry school that is open to all.

The College offers a range of scholarships to new and existing students in Years 7-9 to reward excellence, commitment to College life and access to a Mazenod education.

Year 8 Academic Scholarships

At Year 8, eighteen scholarships are offered to existing students who have shown both outstanding academic performance and the potential to excel in their future academic endeavours. These are offered in April, with tuition fees covered from Year 9 onwards. Internal assessment data, along with data gained from testing through Academic Assessment Services Australia are used to determine the recipients of these scholarships.

Mazenod Foundation Oblate Scholarships

These Scholarships support NEW and existing students to the College who would otherwise not afford a Mazenod education at Years 7, 8 or 9 with scholarships for overall excellence and demonstrated financial need. Eligibility for the Mazenod Foundation Oblate Scholarship applications for NEW students to the College must align with the Mazenod Enrolment Policy.

The Mazenod Foundation Oblate Scholarships are, in part, supported by generous donations to the Mazenod College Scholarship Fund.

Applications for the Mazenod Foundation Oblate Scholarships:

  • OPEN 1 November each year; and
  • CLOSE 15 February on the following year.

and are subject to an accepted Enrolment Application and completion of the Financial Means Assessment documentation which will be emailed separately.

The van Grieken Family Scholarship

Through the generosity of Luke van Grieken (MOC2001) and Shelley Naylor, Mazenod College is proud to announce the establishment of The van Grieken Family Scholarship.

This needs-based scholarship—offered through the Mazenod College Foundation—provides an opportunity for a student whose family circumstances would otherwise prevent them from accessing a Mazenod education. In honour of Marian van Grieken, it reflects a deep belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of community care.

The scholarship will assist with tuition fees for a student entering Mazenod between Years 7 and 9, with the goal of supporting them through to Year 12. Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Strong academic potential and a commitment to further learning
  • Sound moral character, supported by referees
  • Active community involvement through local, faith, or sporting organisations
  • Alignment with Mazenod’s Catholic enrolment criteria and values

Applications for the van Grieken Family Scholarship:

  • OPEN 1 November each year; and
  • CLOSE 15 February on the following year.

and are subject to an accepted Enrolment Application and completion of the Financial Means Assessment documentation which will be emailed separately.

This scholarship is more than financial support—it’s a chance to Enter to Learn, and Leave to Serve.

NOTE: Mazenod Foundation Oblate Scholarship & The van Grieken Family Scholarship applications are closed for 2026. Applications for 2027 recipients open 1 November 2025.
