Students at Mazenod College are fortunate to experience a wide array of physical activities. House Sport takes place for each student one afternoon per week. There are different activities that cover a range of student interests, occuring both on and off campus.

Activities include:

  • Basketball
  • Mixed Martial Arts
  • Tennis
  • Table Tennis
  • Boxing (Year 11 and 12)
  • Scooter and Skateboarding (Year 9 -12)
  • Volleyball Development
  • F45 (Year 9 -12)
  • Resistance Training (Year 9 -12)

Students also participate in three House Sporting Carnivals, which are used to select ACC sporting teams.

House Athletics Carnival

A highlight of the College calendar, the House Athletics Carnival involves a full schedule of track and field events, where students compete for their Houses to earn points which go towards determining an overall champion. Year Level Champion awards are given to the students who achieve the most points and ribbons awarded to place getters. The highlight of the day is the ‘Nodder Gift’ race that concludes the Carnival, which involves the six-year level 100m champions. The Carnival is also used to determine the ACC Athletics training squad.

House Swimming Carnival

The House Swimming Carnival involves a full schedule of swimming events, where students compete for their Houses to earn points which go towards determining an overall champion. Year Level Champion awards are given to the students who achieve the most points and ribbons awarded to place getters. The highlight of the day is the Biathlon event, which includes a 1km run and 100m swim. The Carnival is also used to determine the ACC Swimming training squad.

House Cross Country Carnival

The House Cross Country Carnival involves students completing a 3km (Year 7 and 8) or 4km (Year 9 to 12) course in and around the College grounds. Year Level Champion awards are given to the winning students and the Carnival is also used to determine an ACC Cross Country training squad.
