The FUSE Cup Regional Champion

Ted (Year 8) has finished in 1st place at the FUSE Cup Melbourne Metro High Schools Mario Kart competition, earning the opportunity to represent Mazenod at The FUSE Esports Festival on the Gold Coast in November.

Held at Genazzano FCJ College, the regional competition brought together schools from across Melbourne, with students competing for a place at the national event.

Ted, Jalon, Alessandro and Harrison represented Mazenod in the Year 7 and 8 division, with all four students racing throughout the day. Ted progressed to the Grand Final, where he secured the win, supported from the sidelines by his teammates through communication, encouragement and team focus.

The FUSE Cup provides a structured school esports environment that promotes cyber-safety, digital wellbeing, teamwork and responsible gaming. Rather than simply increasing gaming time, the competition encourages students to think about positive gaming habits, cooperation and how to compete respectfully in a face-to-face setting.
