Sullivan Robey selected with Pick 9 by the Essendon Bombers

Mazenod College congratulates Year 12 student Sullivan Robey, who has been selected with Pick 9 by the Essendon Bombers in the 2025 AFL Draft. He is a lifelong Bombers supporter, making this moment even more special.

Sullivan has built his game through discipline, hard work and a strong commitment to improvement. His draft selection reflects the way he approaches every part of College life.

Principal Dr Paul Shannon commended Sullivan’s achievement, saying:
“We are delighted to see Sullivan drafted this evening. He has shown steady commitment to personal excellence throughout his time at Mazenod. Congratulations to you, Sully, and we wish you every success in your future career.”

He now holds the record for the highest draft pick by an AFL/VFL club for a Mazenod student, previously held by Heath Black in 1996, who was selected with pick 12 by the Fremantle Dockers.

Sullivan will join Old Collegian and former staff member David Regan at Essendon, who was recently appointed Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Bombers.
