An Announcement from Father Kazimierz Trawicki CR (President Canonical Administrators)
Dear Mazenod Community,
I write to advise you that after a recruitment process overseen by the College Board and Oblates of Mary Immaculate, that Archbishop of Melbourne, Most Reverend Peter A
Comensoli has ratified the appointment of Mr Tony Coghlan as the next Principal of Mazenod College to commence effective immediately for three years.
Tony is a person committed to his faith and brings over 35 years of commitment to Catholic Education to this new role. He has worked at Mazenod for 23 years as an
outstanding educator and Deputy Principal of Student Wellbeing for 18 years. Tony sees this new role as a continuation of service to the Mazenod Community.
Tony has a deep understanding of the values of the Catholic Faith and the Oblate Charism on which the College has been founded and will continue to support and grow this vision into the future. Tony is well respected amongst the Oblates, staff, families and students of Mazenod and is well placed to serve the College in this period of transition.
As a valued ministry of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, stewardship of the college remains a priority as outlined in the Province mission and vision. Accordingly, the Oblates will maintain a tangible presence in the College Community as they have for the last 51 years.
Consequently, in addition to his new role as Oblate Provincial, Fr Christian Fini OMI, will remain as Rector of the College for a period of at least 12 months to provide stability and assist with the transition to a new leadership structure.
We congratulate Tony on his appointment and look forward to this new chapter of leadership at Mazenod College which will see Tony work alongside the Oblates in service.Back to news
