An all student cast was used for the first time in the 1986 Mazenod College musical “Guys and Dolls”.
The first Mazenod College musical production titled “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat” was staged at the Alexander Theatre, Monash University. It was directed by the former Rector of the college, Fr. Pat Moroney, who was also responsible for starting musicals at Mazenod. Fr. Moroney directed two other musicals – “Smike” (1982) and “The Witness” (1983).
