On the 11th February, 2000 the Inaugural Mass was held for the first time at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne following a decision by the Rector, Fr John Sherman, to move the event from the College grounds. The main celebrant was the Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne, The Most Reverend, Denis Hart. In the following years, with the exception of 2021 when the Mass was moved to the Provence Centre at the College because of Covid-19 restrictions, all Inaugural Masses have been held at St Patrick’s Cathedral.
