Mat Giuliano (Class of 2012) Accepted into North Melbourne Academy
The Mazenod Panther’s are thrilled to report that Mat Giuliano has been accepted into a Coaching Academy offered by the North Melbourne Football Club. Matt is an integral part of the Panthers and has been regularly helping out at Panthers training for over 12 months. Further, Matt is a critical member of the Third 18 team who has pushed his way up into the Reserves on occasion this year.
The North’s Next Generation Coaches Academy is a two-day intensive coaching masterclass for second to sixth-year grassroots Australian Rules Football coaches.
At the Coaches Academy participants will:
- Learn from successful AFL coaches including Darren Crocker (more coaches to be announced!)
- Participate in interactive lessons on nutrition and sports science from AFL and AFLW leaders
- Get an in-depth insight into AFL and AFLW recruiting processes and talent pathways from North’s recruiters
- Experience an inner sanctum tour of the North Melbourne Football Club
The Panther’s are also grateful to Scott Nicholas and AFLVIC for making this opportunity available to FIDA coaches and assistants. When asked about his acceptance into the program, Mat said: “Helping out at the Panther’s has been very rewarding. Further developing my coaching skills at the Academy is something I am very excited about. I am very much looking forward to bringing back to the Panthers and the Nodders what I learn at the Academy”
