Rosies Oblate Youth Mission

Rosies Oblate Youth Mission is an outreach to the homeless in Melbourne. Its mission is to be “Friends on the Street and operates out of Flinders Street Station every Wednesday and Friday.
ROSIES gives those people at Flinders street, especially if they appear to be homeless or lonely, a comfortable and safe environment in which they belong.

ROSIES volunteers witness Christ’s love for the poor and abandoned, through developing friendships and being a listening ear. One of the most severe problems for the homeless is not simply getting food and shelter, but getting someone to listen to their story and to be their “Friend On The Street”.

ROSIES is a missionary work of the Catholic Church, under the auspices of a religious order called the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

Year 12’s are offered the opportunity to be a part of the Mission through immersion and voluntary experiences. Rosies Oblate Youth Mission forms the primary basis of Community Service in Year 12. More on Rosies can be found at
